Care Worker (Domiciliary) — Bromley, Beckenham, and surrounding areas

Applicants must have their own legal Right to Work in the UK without the need for employer sponsorship.

You will be working in an environment which offers a high level of care and support, taking care of vulnerable adults in their own homes. You will facilitate their comfort and wellbeing and actively promote independence.

Experience / Qualification

  • Previous experience is preferred but not essential as full training is given.
  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in health & social care is an advantage.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Visit the client in their home as directed.
  • Communicate to the relevant manager any concerns regarding a client, family or staff.
  • Proactively identify issues, resolve and document where possible; otherwise, escalate to the relevant manager.
  • Take responsibility for the service. Work independently to deliver a high level of care and ensure that the client\’s needs are fully met; report any changes to the relevant manager.
  • Prepare and serve meals, drinks and snacks.
  • Assist the client with personal care such as bathing, grooming and dressing.
  • Assist with toileting, including the changing of pads if required.
  • Client‑specific care, including moving, repositioning and changing a catheter bag.
  • Administer oral and topical medication.
  • Handle household tasks such as grocery shopping and laundry.
  • Support the client in avoiding social isolation, arranging outings and social visits.
  • Provide mental and emotional support.
  • Make recommendations for improving the care and support of the service user.
  • Follow the client\’s care plan and other information in the delivery of care.
  • Document the care you provide.
  • Report any concerns or incidents to the relevant manager.
  • Lead by example, and be professional, polite and reasonable always.
  • Maintain professional relationships with family, friends and other individuals within the client\’s circle of support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other health and social care professionals to provide the best possible care.
  • Attend all meetings as required, including supervisions, appraisals and team meetings.
  • Maintain training, achieve the relevant qualification and seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge of the staff handbook, Code of Conduct for Health & Social Care Workers, the regulatory framework that governs the company, and CQC requirements.
  • All other duties and tasks as directed.
