Mechanical source inspector needed in Italy, covering Western Europe. We are looking for detail orientated Source Inspector, being a specialist in a broad range of mechanical commodities, to support a high-profile customer program. This role involves conducting on-site inspections at supplier facilities to ensure that precision components and assemblies meet customer exacting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections on precision-machined parts, castings, forgings, and assemblies.
- Validate supplier processes and outputs against drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Document inspection findings and provide timely reports to stakeholders.
- Raise and assist in resolving quality issues at supplier sites.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific standards.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in supplier performance and quality.
Qualifications
- Have a minimum of 7 years quality and/or engineering expertise in the aerospace and defence industries.
- Proven background in mechanical inspection for aerospace, defence, or similar critical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specifications.
- Proficiency with measurement tools (CMM, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Experience in welding inspection, ideally holding CWI certification.
- Familiarity with NADCAP processes is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region.
