We are looking for a Quality Engineer for a 6 month role in Prestwick. Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.
£33 per hour Outside IR35
Role Purpose
Accountable for the Quality Engineering activities within the respective project and working in support of the operational requirements, ensuring that quality is maintained by adherence to customer and regulatory authority requirements. Assist in the control of manufacturing processes and the application of problem solving and improvement tools. To provide assistance in the development and deployment of the Quality Policy and Strategy, provide support for the key project quality activities and ensure that project quality issues are effectively reported and managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of a robust Corrective and Preventive Action process which establishes clear Root Cause and identifies effective solutions for Internal, Customer and Supplier Product Quality non-conformances.
- Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process and ensure that all items are appropriately dispositioned and robust corrective action is established and effectively discharged.
- Support production activities, ensuring all Quality Engineering processes are effectively deployed in line with the customer and regulatory authority requirements, such as EASA Part 21G and AS9100 Rev D.
- Analyse and compile performance reports and process control statistics in order to determine and improve process capability or product quality.
- To ensure appropriate inspection planning, Last Article Inspection (LAI) and First Article Inspection/Verification (FAI/FAV) and delegated source inspection programmes are generated and maintained by the project.
- Take the appropriate action to review and maintain the QMS and assist the project in the development, deployment and maintenance of relevant project quality policies and procedures.
- Provide support to the project in relation to being the Quality focal point for the customer, suppliers and regulatory authorities as appropriate.
- Support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC) as part of overarching Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for key products.
Effective communication with key support functions is essential. Experience of Boeing product is preferable, however not essential.
