This role is inside IR35, and candidates will be required to work via an Umbrella Company. Seeking an Aerospace Quality Engineer full-time (37.5 hours per week) for a 12-month+ project near Milton Keynes, England. Flexible working options including 4 day week.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support a range of projects across our customers' organisation. The role will play a critical part in ensuring that quality standards are consistently met, maintained, and improved throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for all quality-related matters, working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and project management. You will be responsible for identifying, managing, and resolving quality issues, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external standards. This is a dynamic position requiring the ability to manage competing priorities, influence stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all quality-related issues across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Manage non-conformances from identification through to resolution, ensuring timely and effective closure.
  • Lead and facilitate Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, ensuring robust analysis and sustainable solutions.
  • Review and approve technical and quality documentation in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing quality input to ensure risks are identified and mitigated early in the development process.
  • Support bid and proposal activities by contributing quality-related content, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics and provide insights and recommendations to drive improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, procedures, and customer requirements throughout all project phases.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience maintaining and developing control plans ensuring that process controls are robust, preventing nonconforming products from reaching the customer.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Confidence in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from shop floor to senior management, across a variety of technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Strong decision-making capability, with a willingness to take ownership and accountability for resolving issues through to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information.
  • High level of proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with SAP Quality module is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience in conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions is essential.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. ISO standards) would be advantageous.
