We are currently seeking a PPAP Quality Engineer to support a program on-site at a customer facility, supporting the preparation and development of internal PPAP submissions in accordance with AS9145 and relevant AS1300x standards (AS13003, AS13004, AS13006).
The desired candidates will have a strong understanding of APQP and the associated PPAP deliverables. The support will include:
- Lead the Part Production Approval Process (PPAP) preparation activities, including the development, coordination and maturation of internal PPAP deliverables in line with AS9145 and customer requirements.
- Work closely with customer engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to build and author PPAP content, ensuring robust APQP execution.
- Facilitate and support the creation and maintenance of PPAP deliverables, ensuring objective evidence is complete, compliant and traceable.
- Liaise with customer personnel to resolve issues identified during PPAP preparation, providing technical guidance and support to close gaps.
- Support and facilitate internal PPAP readiness and pre-submission reviews.
- Track and report PPAP preparation status to ensure visibility of progress for the customer.
- Maintain both Verify and Customer systems as necessary in the performance of the PPAP preparation activity.
Experience requirements:
- Demonstrate evidence of more than 3 years in the last 5 years working within an engineering environment.
- Experience of industries who have a proven track record of deploying APQP methodologies is a must (automotive preferred).
- Strong understanding of APQP requirements and associated PPAP deliverables, with working knowledge of AS9145 and relevant AS1300x standards.
- Ability to create and develop PPAP deliverables, with particular focus on:
- Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Process Flow Diagram
- Selection/Determination of Key Characteristics
- Process Control Plan
- Process Readiness Study
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA, also known as Gage R&R)
