The predicted salary is between 57200 - 66000 £ per year.

Hours - 4pm to 2:30am Monday to Thursday, 4pm to 1:30am Friday. 4pm to 8pm @ £27.50 per hour, 8pm to 2:30am / 1:30am @ £33 per hour.

The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer via web application.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies.
  • The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
  • Must have the ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
  • The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required.
  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Candidate should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment.
  • Will be working as an independent contractor (1099).

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Operation of Optical Measurement equipment (OGP and 3D Scanner).
  • To carry out 1st off Inspection Manual / Receipt Inspection / Inspection and Calibration activities as required to support operations.
  • To support the internal non-conformance process; raising rejects and ensuring all containment is captured.
  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Control of Inspection priorities within the Inspection Cell.
  • Read and understand the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be carried out.
  • Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the Job Card is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.
  • Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, this includes Machine and Tooling Set Up Packs as required, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, Inspection Plans etc.
  • Use of all measuring equipment as defined within Inspection Plans to check conformance to requirements.
  • Carry out in process inspection in accordance with relevant inspection plans to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.
  • Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.
  • Complete all work booking requirements within the MRP system to ensure accurate WIP records.
  • Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.
  • Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.
