The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a pivotal role in identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities to support ISOQAR’s continued growth. The role focuses on proactive outreach across targeted prospect lists, lapsed opportunities, self-lead generation, inbound enquiries, and marketing campaigns, ensuring the Sales team receives a steady pipeline of well-qualified leads.
What that means day to day
- Proactive Outreach & Lead Generation
- Identify and engage new business opportunities across the UK through outbound calling, personalised email, and social selling.
- Research target industries and organisations to deliver relevant, tailored outreach.
- Build and manage your own pipeline, working across outbound prospects, inbound enquiries, and marketing-generated leads.
- Engage with decision-makers to understand needs and spark interest in ISOQAR’s services.
- Collaborate with Inbound Sales Teams and Marketing to support demand generation and opportunity nurture.
- Qualification & Pipeline Development
- Qualify opportunities against agreed criteria before handing over to Sales.
- Book high-quality discovery calls and demonstrations directly into Sales calendars.
- Develop a strong understanding of ISOQAR’s services, sectors, and customer challenges.
- Data & Performance
- Maintain accurate CRM records and activity tracking.
- Share market insights and customer feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Success will be measured by qualified leads, meetings booked, conversion rates, and contribution to sales pipeline value.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Essential
- A proactive, “hunter” mindset with the ability to build and convert your own pipeline.
- Self-motivated, resilient and target-driven, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in a lead-generation or outbound sales role (BDR, SDR, telemarketing or similar).
- Confident engaging prospects via phone, email and LinkedIn.
- Comfortable with high-volume outreach and maintaining momentum in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, listening and objection-handling skills, including with senior decision-makers.
- Organised and disciplined, with the ability to manage activity and keep CRM data accurate.
- Desirable
- Experience in certification, compliance, audit, SaaS, or professional services.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and outbound sales methodologies.
- Experience working alongside Sales and Marketing teams to refine messaging and campaigns.
- A clear interest in building a long-term career in sales.
