Facilities Manager – Role Overview

We’re looking for a proactive Facilities Manager to ensure our workplaces are safe, compliant, and running smoothly. You’ll take ownership of building maintenance, manage suppliers and contractors, and act as the main point of contact for all facilities-related matters. Working closely with internal teams, landlords, and health & safety representatives, you’ll help create an environment that supports both our people and business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of the office facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and coordinate reactive maintenance works.
  • Obtain quotes for maintenance, repairs, and facilities works, ensuring best value and cost approval before proceeding with jobs.
  • Manage day‑to‑day relationships with external contractors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all UK health and safety legislation, building regulations, and statutory inspections.
  • Manage health and safety processes (e.g., risk assessments, fire safety, first aid, workplace inspections).
  • Review, assess, and approve contractor Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure works are carried out safely, in compliance with health and safety legislation, and in line with company policies and site procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in building or workplace management, supervising staff and managing contractor and supplier relationships.
  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation, including reviewing RAMS and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Experience overseeing planned and reactive maintenance, managing SLAs, and controlling costs.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and confident communicating with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong IT skills (including Microsoft Office) and a proactive, flexible approach.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or working towards) preferred.
