We're looking for a motivated and commercially minded Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing SafeContractor team in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships, uncovering opportunities, and helping organisations find solutions that support their business goals.
As a BDR, you'll play a key role in generating new business opportunities, qualifying leads, and building a strong pipeline for our BDM team. You'll be at the forefront of customer engagement, introducing prospective clients to SafeContractor's market-leading solutions and helping to drive business growth.
What that means day to day:
- Proactively identify, engage, and qualify prospective customers through outbound calls, LinkedIn, marketing campaigns, and other lead generation activities.
- Schedule meetings with potential clients to understand their business needs and identify suitable SafeContractor solutions.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through effective lead follow-up and opportunity management.
- Work closely with field-based Business Development colleagues to maximise new business, cross-sell opportunities, and overall commercial success.
- Maintain accurate customer and pipeline information within Microsoft Dynamics CRM, ensuring reliable forecasting and reporting.
What you’ll need to be successful:
We're looking for someone who is confident communicating with decision-makers, enjoys developing new business opportunities, and can build strong professional relationships. You'll be organised, commercially aware, and motivated by achieving and exceeding targets. You'll also bring:
- Experience in B2B telephone-based sales, business development, or a similar customer-facing environment.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and questioning techniques.
- Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Strong organisation, time management, and prioritisation skills.
- Experience working towards sales targets and KPIs.
Desirable:
- Experience using LinkedIn for business development and prospect research.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar customer relationship management systems.
- Experience identifying larger commercial opportunities through a consultative sales approach.
- Experience working with enterprise-level customers.
- Experience within Health & Safety, Risk Management, Supply Chain, or related sectors.
