What's Exciting About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic payment solution projects for customers, working as part of the EMEA Project Management Office (PMO). This role demands strong technical acumen, solid project management expertise, and the ability to liaise confidently with internal stakeholders and customers across all levels. Our preferred office location for you to work from would be Ashford, Kent but we will also consider candidates who are local to our London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Manage medium to large-scale technical projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and internal standards. Define project objectives, success criteria, schedules, and stakeholder communication plans. Proactively identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and assumptions. Apply Quality Assurance across all aspects of project delivery to meet business and customer expectations. Ensure timely, accurate progress reporting to stakeholders and management.
- Technical Engagement: Collaborate with technical teams to assess feasibility, integration requirements, and system dependencies. Interpret and translate technical specifications and architecture requirements for non-technical stakeholders. Maintain a strong working knowledge of payment industry technologies including APIs, EMV, PCI-DSS compliance, and software/hardware integration.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for customers during project lifecycles. Lead regular project meetings with clients and internal teams to ensure consistent delivery alignment. Occasionally visit client sites to support delivery effectiveness and relationship development.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices within the PMO. Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support resource coordination. Take ownership of personal development and stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and PM methodologies.
Skills And Experience We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience managing technical projects in software and/or payment environments.
- Strong technical foundation and ability to understand complex integrations.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with MS Project is beneficial.
- Familiarity with project tracking and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is an advantage.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- Knowledge of PRINCE2, Agile, or other recognized project management methodologies.
- Experience in the payments industry, including terminal integrations or acquiring platforms.
- Understanding of compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, P2PE, and related frameworks.
Additional Information
Some travel within the UK & Ireland may be required. Training and onboarding on specific Verifone systems and methodologies will be provided.
