Veriflo is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver clean water network operations projects. This role involves managing the full project lifecycle - from planning and execution to completion - while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client expectations.
You will play a key role in driving operational efficiencies, reducing water leakage and unaccounted-for water, and supporting ongoing maintenance and repair programmes. This position requires strong commercial acumen, leadership, and organisational skills to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, KPIs, and deliverables.
- Manage project bidding and tendering processes, including contract negotiations and quote submissions.
- Monitor budgets, control costs, and ensure financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare risk assessments and method statements, and conduct team briefings.
- Coordinate with technical and field teams to ensure smooth project delivery and foster a positive team culture.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships; lead pre-start, progress, and post-project meetings.
- Generate and present project reports, including progress updates and budget analysis.
- Identify and implement solutions to project challenges, driving continuous improvement.
- Manage risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Oversee contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in clean water operations.
- Participate in a 1-in-7 week out-of-hours duty manager rota.
- Conduct line management duties, including performance reviews and team development.
- HNC/Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience managing projects in the utilities sector.
- Knowledge of water distribution networks and relevant regulations (desirable).
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to project and client sites as required.
