Veriflo Ltd specialises in professional project management and consultancy services across the clean water sector. We help our clients identify leakage and unaccounted-for water, develop effective mitigation plans and ensure their networks operate as efficiently and reliably as possible.

We are now looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our growing team as Apprentice Field Technicians. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a hands-on career within clean water operations while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

During this 18-month apprenticeship, you will complete a Level 3 Diploma in Water Distribution, combining structured learning with practical experience. You will spend approximately 20% of your time in a formal training environment, supported by internal and external training providers. The remaining 80% will be spent working in the field alongside experienced professionals, developing practical skills and applying what you have learned.

  • Analyse water network performance, including pressure, flow and leakage, to help identify faults and inefficiencies.
  • Investigate network issues and support the delivery of practical solutions that reduce supply interruptions.
  • Maintain water network equipment and systems, including pumps, control valves and associated assets.
  • Assist with reservoir outages, chlorination activities, valve operations and other major network projects.
  • Use electronic location equipment and hydraulic principles to identify underground services and diagnose network faults.
  • Support safe street works while protecting water quality, maintaining continuity of supply and working outdoors in varied conditions.

As part of the apprenticeship, you will also receive formal training and certification in:

  • National Water Hygiene – EUSR
  • Signing, Lighting and Guarding – NRSWA Unit 2
  • Valve Operations
  • Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness – SHEA Water
  • Confined Space Entry
  • First Aid

Who you are:

  • Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team.
  • Safety-conscious and has strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Hold GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence, which will be required for long-term employment following the apprenticeship.
  • Reliable, adaptable and confident using their initiative.

Full uniform and personal protective equipment will be provided.

We want our apprentices to stay and grow with us. Following successful completion of the programme, we aim to offer apprentices a permanent position as a Clean Water Field Technician. From there, you will have access to continued development through internal mentoring, practical experience and external training programmes. Your learning will not stop when the apprenticeship ends; we are committed to investing in our people and helping you build a rewarding career within a vital and expanding industry.

All offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including a DBS check and drug and alcohol testing.
