The Role:

We are looking for a Hybrid QA Engineer who can bridge the gap between technical automation and strategic quality assurance. You won\’t just be ticket-bashing; you will be defining what \\\”Quality\\\” looks like for our product.

You are the right fit if you believe that automation handles the repetition, but human intelligence handles the complexity.You are excited by the potential of AI to speed up test generation and are comfortable getting your hands dirty with both code and process. Must Haves (The Core Requirements)

• Playwright Expertise: 3+ years of experience in test automation, with at least 1 year specifically using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript. You must have experience building frameworks, not just running existing scripts.
• API Testing Mastery: Strong experience testing RESTful (or GraphQL) APIs. You don\’t just check for a 200 OK status; you validate the JSON payload structure, data types, and logic.
• The \\\”Hybrid\\\” Mindset: Demonstrated experience managing both automated suites and manual regression strategies. You must be willing to create and maintain manual test sheets and understand the value of doing it.
• CI/CD Integration: Experience integrating automated tests into pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.). You know how to debug a test that passes locally but fails in the cloud.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git. You will be working in the same repository as the developers.

Nice to Haves (The \\\”Powerhouse\\\” Differentiators)

• AI Tooling Experience: Experience using AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, ZeroStep, Applitools) to accelerate test writing, generate mock data, or implement self-healing tests.
• Performance/Load Testing: Experience using tools like k6 or JMeter to test API limits (highly valuable as we onboard larger clients).
• Security Awareness: Basic knowledge of OWASP Top 10. You know how to spot a basic security flaw (like IDOR or XSS) during testing.
• Database Literacy: Ability to write basic SQL queries to verify that the data in the database matches what the API is returning.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Architecting Automation: Build and maintain a robust end-to-end testing suite using Playwright for our modern web application.
• API Quality Control: Deeply test our rebuilt API to ensure data integrity for our enterprise clients.
• AI-Enhanced Testing: Act as a \\\”force multiplier\\\” by utilising AI tools to generate test data, speed up script writing, and identify edge cases.
• Strategy & Process: Own the \\\”Release Confidence\\\” metric. You will create and maintain regression testing sheets, smoke test plans, and release checklists.
• Bug Hunting: Perform exploratory manual testing on new features to catch the UX issues and edge cases that automated scripts miss.
