About the team

The Verian Group Finance HQ team is a central, high-performing and collaborative function that plays a critical role in supporting the Group’s strategic and operational objectives. Based at the heart of the organisation, the team brings together deep technical expertise, strong business partnering capability and a shared commitment to high standards of financial governance, insight and continuous improvement. Working closely with colleagues across Verian’s global operations, the Finance HQ team partners with senior stakeholders to support effective decision-making, manage risk and enable the Group’s continued growth.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Global Head of Tax to lead Verian’s global tax function and provide strategic tax leadership across the Group. Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, you will have global responsibility for tax strategy, governance, risk and compliance. You will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, ensuring that tax considerations are embedded in key commercial, operational, transformation and growth initiatives. This is a broad and influential role, covering direct and indirect taxation, international tax, transfer pricing, tax accounting, tax risk management, M&A and tax compliance across our international operations. You will combine strong technical expertise with commercial judgement, helping Verian manage tax risk effectively while supporting the Group’s strategic and commercial objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop the Group tax function, setting the strategic direction and priorities for tax across the organisation
  • Own and evolve Verian’s Group Tax Strategy and Tax Governance Framework
  • Act as the primary adviser to the Group CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and the Audit Committee on tax risks, compliance, and emerging legislative developments
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisers, auditors and tax authorities globally

Global Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure effective oversight of all direct and indirect tax compliance obligations across the Group
  • Manage corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, employment taxes, and other relevant tax obligations
  • Oversee tax accounting, tax provisioning, deferred tax calculations, and tax disclosures for statutory and group reporting purposes
  • Ensure appropriate controls and processes are maintained to deliver accurate and timely compliance

International Tax & Transfer Pricing

  • Lead the Group's international tax strategy and provide advice on global business structures and cross-border operations
  • Oversee transfer pricing policy, documentation, and compliance with OECD and local regulations
  • Advise on permanent establishment exposure, withholding taxes, treaty applications, and international expansion opportunities
  • Monitor the impact of international tax reform initiatives
  • Develop and maintain an effective tax risk management framework
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks associated with commercial transactions, restructuring projects, and operational activities
  • Lead all tax audits, disputes, and enquiries globally
  • Ensure alignment between the Group's risk appetite and tax governance practices

Strategic Projects & M&A

  • Lead tax support for acquisitions, disposals, restructuring projects, and business transformations programmes
  • Conduct and oversee tax due diligence and integration activities
  • Advise on transaction structuring and post-deal implementation
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, Treasury, and Corporate Development teams on strategic initiatives

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Drive continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and reporting capabilities
  • Champion the adoption of tax technology, automation, and data analytics solutions
  • Support finance transformation initiatives and ensure tax requirements are appropriately embedded in systems and processes

What You’ll Bring

  • Professional tax qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
  • 12+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant experience in multinational organisations
  • Demonstrated experience leading a tax function or operating at Head of Tax, Tax Director, or Senior Tax Leader level
  • Deep expertise in corporate tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and international tax matters
  • Strong understanding of tax accounting and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience successfully managing tax audits and tax authority relationships across multiple jurisdictions
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and provide commercially focused advice
  • Strong leadership and people management capability
  • Familiarity with UK, European, and international tax frameworks
  • Experience supporting private equity-backed organisations and transformation programmes
