Policy and program evaluation is expanding rapidly. We focus on areas including Education and Families (e.g., reading fluency, school attendance, Family Courts, Pupil Premium, PE and School Sport), Energy Security and Environment, Housing, and Criminal Justice.
About the Role
As a Director, you will lead and grow the Education and Families Hub within Verianβs Evaluation Practice, shaping thought leadership, enhancing reputation, and securing high-impact projects. You will evaluate policies supporting children and families, manage sector strategy, and oversee large-scale evaluations involving multiple stakeholders and clients like the Department for Education and the Education Endowment Foundation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead evaluation projects in education and families
- Develop proposals for new business opportunities
- Oversee project cycles from planning to dissemination
- Grow and develop the Education and Families team
- Ensure quality assurance
- Support strategy development within the Evaluation Practice
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and thought leadership
- Maximize impact through high-quality evaluations and external showcasing
Skills and Experience
- 10+ years leading research/evaluation projects in education and families
- Experience in policy design and evaluation (primary/secondary education, childcare, early years)
- Leadership of research teams and project management skills
- Strong communication skills for reports and presentations
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Expertise in SEND, AI in education, mental health, workforce issues
- Peer-reviewed publications or conference participation
