About the Role
We are looking for a Part‑Qualified Assistant / General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will play a key role in contributing to our financial reporting by supporting key general ledger activities, month‑end processes, and statutory requirements. You will work within our central, high‑performing finance function, ensuring strong governance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This role offers a valuable opportunity for an ambitious part‑qualified professional to broaden their technical capabilities, gain exposure to a complex financial environment within a supportive organization.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Support balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
- Assist in preparing management accounts and financial statements
- Provide analysis and commentary on variances as required
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Contribute to process improvements and strengthening of financial controls
What You’ll Bring
- Part‑qualified accountant (preferably at an advanced stage with ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
- SAP - S/4HANA
- Experience in accounting, ideally within GL, assistant accountant, or similar role
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles
- Experience with month‑end activities and balance sheet reconciliations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across the business
- Proactive, organised, and able to meet deadlines in a structured environment
