We're now looking for an exceptional Senior Strategic Account Manager to take ownership of a major national retail account. This is a high-profile role for a commercially astute account leader who thrives on building executive-level relationships, driving profitable growth and delivering strategic value to enterprise customers.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will act as the commercial owner of a key national contract, leading its ongoing development, performance and growth. You'll work closely with senior customer stakeholders, operational teams and support functions to ensure the account delivers outstanding commercial and service outcomes.

This is far more than relationship management. You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing a long-term account growth strategy
  • Driving revenue, margin improvement and contract profitability
  • Leading executive-level customer engagement and governance
  • Managing contract renewals and complex commercial negotiations
  • Identifying and securing service expansion opportunities
  • Influencing operational delivery to achieve commercial objectives
  • Owning major customer escalations and strategic risk management
  • Acting as the voice of the customer within Vergo and across senior leadership teams.

About You

We're looking for someone who can operate confidently at board and director level while maintaining strong commercial discipline and accountability. You'll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience managing large, multi-site national or enterprise accounts
  • Proven ownership of commercial performance and P&L outcomes
  • A track record of delivering profitable growth and margin improvement
  • Experience leading complex contract renewals and negotiations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at senior level
  • Strategic thinking combined with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Excellent commercial acumen, financial literacy and analytical capability
  • The credibility to challenge, influence and lead across multiple business functions.

Experience within facilities management, outsourced services, compliance services, pest management or other multi-site service environments would be advantageous.
