Vergo Pest Management Ltd are currently looking to recruit Specialist Proofing Technicians to work in the East Anglia area. As full training will be provided, this position would be suited to someone who has experience in General Maintenance, Grounds Work, Construction, shop fitting or a Handyman role. This role is primarily to implement protective measures within the sites allocated.

The annual salary for this role is from £29,160 depending on experience and qualifications.

As a key member of the Specialist Proofing Team, you will undertake jobs at commercial, residential and government sites and properties throughout the UK. Primarily, Technicians will travel to various sites throughout the UK to assist with or undertake specialist proofing works, vegetation control, hygiene treatments and wildlife culls. Night work will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Rodent proofing work.
  • Proofing installation for avian management including wires, spikes, and netting.
  • General Pest Control duties.
  • Weed control using herbicides and mechanical methods.
  • Hygiene treatments including the removal of human and animal waste.
  • Transport/dispose of hazardous waste, ensuring it takes place efficiently without contaminating air, land, or water sources.
  • Complete Job Work contracts professionally, to specification within budget.
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills and undertake online modular training in own time at home as required.
  • Maintain job work tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Ensure safe working area and high standard of hygiene for job work workshop and stores.
  • Any other “ad hoc” duties as required by the needs of the business.

Essential Criteria:

  • Full UK Drivers Licence.
  • Good communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Live within a 30-mile radius of the area advertised.
  • The ability to work effectively and independently with minimal supervision.
  • To be methodical and systematic in your approach to work.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Criteria:

  • British Pest Control Association/RSPH – Level 2.
  • IPAF (desired).
  • PASMA (desired).
  • DIY work skills preferred.
  • Previous Pest Control work would be an advantage, however not necessary as full training will be given.
