We are seeking a skilled and dependable Field Technician (or Installation technician) with a background in general contracting to support equipment and low-voltage device installations across various client sites. This role is ideal for an independent contractor comfortable working with minimal supervision in fast-paced environments. This position requires extensive and at times international travel.
Responsibilities:
- Install devices (e.g., sensors, mounts, brackets, low-voltage hardware) in commercial office and industrial settings.
- Read and follow detailed installation instructions, floor plans, and site documentation.
- Coordinate with onsite teams, including electricians, cabling vendors, and site leads.
- Use hand and power tools to complete mounting, drilling, and assembly tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of installed equipment, including tagging and photo documentation.
- Conduct site walkthroughs to verify installation accuracy and identify potential issues.
- Troubleshoot basic device connectivity or placement issues when needed.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and professionally, adhering to site safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a general contractor, installer, field technician, or similar role.
- Proficient in the use of drills, ladders, forklift, screwdrivers, cable management tools, etc.
- Comfortable working in active commercial environments and on ladders/lift in ceiling spaces.
- Able to interpret floorplans, drawings, and installation guides.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
