Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver high-quality electrical designs across complex projects, working within a collaborative and professional engineering environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for producing comprehensive electrical designs and technical documentation, while progressively taking ownership of projects from inception through to completion. This role offers the opportunity to work on multiple projects simultaneously and develop toward a lead role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce electrical design studies and calculations
  • Contribute across all RIBA design stages
  • Produce detailed drawings, schedules, specifications and reports
  • Prepare due diligence reports and feasibility studies
  • Carry out technical surveys of existing M&E services infrastructure
  • Take responsibility for projects from start to finish
  • Act as a key point of contact on projects
  • Attend coordination meetings, workshops and client progress meetings
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor contractors and oversee site works
  • Carry out peer reviews and client monitoring roles
  • Review and approve contractor shop drawings and technical submissions
  • Witness and review tests and mock-ups (on and off site)
  • Inspect works and issue quality, defects and practical completion lists
  • Mentor and support junior engineers
  • Build strong working relationships to support repeat business

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2:2 degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
  • 5-7 years' industry experience (experience in data centres or high-resilience infrastructure preferred)
  • Membership of CIBSE and/or IMechE
  • Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng)

Essential Skills

  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and CIBSE standards
  • Electrical protection and discrimination using Amtech and/or ETAP
  • Lighting design using Dialux
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit (2D & 3D)
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective client and professional team liaison
  • Strong time management with ability to manage multiple workstreams
  • High attention to detail, diligence and problem-solving ability
