Role purpose: Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead complex infrastructure projects and support the management of a growing civil engineering team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead civil engineering design for drainage, highways and external works
  • Oversee S278 and S38 infrastructure schemes
  • Manage and coordinate engineering teams and resources
  • Review and approve technical design outputs
  • Manage project budgets and commercial delivery
  • Prepare and write fee proposals
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers
  • Attend client meetings and lead technical discussions
  • Support business development and bid input
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and design codes

Skills and experience:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards
  • Strong consultancy background in civil engineering
  • Experience managing teams and complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong drainage and highways design knowledge
  • Commercial and project leadership experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
