We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Mechanical Inspector to join a well-established, growing precision engineering manufacturer operating within highly regulated, safety-critical sectors.
The Role
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring all components and finished products meet strict quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out first-off inspections of CNC-machined components
- Using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, plug gauges)
- Interpreting engineering drawings and checking components against specifications (imperial)
- Completing quality control documentation and supporting issue resolution
- Managing acceptance/rejection of parts via ERP systems
- Supporting quality processes using advanced equipment such as CMM or FARO arms (training provided)
Requirements
- Mechanical or engineering background (apprenticeship or equivalent experience)
- Experience within precision engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environments
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Familiarity with ISO9001:2015 quality standards
- Comfortable using inspection tools and completing documentation
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
