Location: Cheshire

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (40 hours per week)

We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Mechanical Inspector to join a well-established, growing precision engineering manufacturer operating within highly regulated, safety-critical sectors.

The Role

As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring all components and finished products meet strict quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out first-off inspections of CNC-machined components
  • Using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, plug gauges)
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and checking components against specifications (imperial)
  • Completing quality control documentation and supporting issue resolution
  • Managing acceptance/rejection of parts via ERP systems
  • Supporting quality processes using advanced equipment such as CMM or FARO arms (training provided)

Requirements

  • Mechanical or engineering background (apprenticeship or equivalent experience)
  • Experience within precision engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environments
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with ISO9001:2015 quality standards
  • Comfortable using inspection tools and completing documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
