Principal Structural Engineer \\n\\n Location: Derby\\n\\nSalary: Competitive\\n\\n Overview \\n\\nOur client is an established structural engineering consultancy who has an immediate requirement for a Principal Structural Engineer to join its Derby office. The successful candidate will work within an experienced structural engineering design team, delivering a wide range of projects across the East Midlands and the UK.\\n\\n Key Responsibilities\\n\\nStructural design using industry-standard software, including TEDDS, TEKLA, and CSC Portal Frame Designer\\n\\nCompletion of hand calculations where required\\n\\nDelivery of designs ranging from small housing schemes to multi-storey structures, with construction values from £250,000 to £30 million\\n\\nContribution to projects delivered to BIM Level 2\\n\\nEffective communication with clients and stakeholders, both verbally and in written English\\n\\nCollaboration within a multidisciplinary team while also working independently\\n\\nSupporting and assisting with the management and development of less experienced team members\\n\\n Skills & Competencies \\n\\n Essential:\\n\\nStrong analytical skills\\n\\nEducated to Bachelor's or Master's degree level\\n\\nStrong teamwork ethic\\n\\nComputer literate, with full competency in Microsoft Word and Excel\\n\\nExperienced in the use of AutoCAD for technical drawing\\n\\n Desirable:\\n\\nExperience using industry-standard software such as TEDDS, TEKLA, and CSC Portal Frame Designer\\n\\n Experience\\n\\nSuitable for an experienced Principal Structural Engineer, either working towards chartership or already chartered\\n\\nProven experience designing structures using steel, timber, masonry, and reinforced concrete\\n\\nSound knowledge of geotechnical engineering\\n\\nExperience working on projects across a variety of sectors and scales\\n\\n Professional Development\\n\\nOngoing support toward gaining membership of relevant professional institutions\\n\\nStrong track record of mentoring engineers towards ICE or IStructE membership\\n\\n Personal Attributes\\n\\nStrong teamwork ethic combined with the ability to work independently\\n\\nSelf-motivated and proactive\\n\\nConfident communicator\\n\\nWillingness to support and mentor junior engineers
