Role purpose:

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Highway Engineering Team Lead at Associate level to support the management and development of an expanding highways engineering team delivering a range of infrastructure schemes across the development sector.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead delivery of highways design schemes including S278, S38 and S184 works
  • Provide pre-planning highway engineering advice on development projects
  • Oversee technical design outputs and ensure quality of drawings and reports
  • Manage workload and resources across the highways engineering team
  • Mentor and support engineers within the team
  • Prepare and manage fee proposals, budgets and fee letters
  • Monitor project finances and manage scope changes
  • Support business development and follow-up of project opportunities
  • Liaise with transport planning teams on cross-discipline projects
  • Attend client meetings and stakeholder discussions where required

Skills and experience:

  • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering
  • ICE or CIHT membership preferred
  • Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) desirable
  • Strong highways engineering experience within consultancy
  • Experience delivering S278 / S38 schemes
  • Team leadership or mentoring experience
  • Strong commercial and project management awareness
