An established facilities management organisation is seeking an experienced Fire Door Surveyor to support its continued growth. The successful individual will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of current fire safety legislation and standards, delivering high-quality fire door inspections and reporting in line with recognised industry frameworks, including BM TRADA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out comprehensive fire door inspections across commercial and residential premises.
  • Assess fire door components, including door leaves, frames, seals, ironmongery, and associated hardware, to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Confirm fire doors are correctly installed, unobstructed, and fully operational.
  • Test fire doors for correct closing, latching, and overall functionality within required tolerances.
  • Identify, document, and report any defects, non-compliance issues, or potential fire safety risks.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and detailed inspection reports suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide recommendations for remedial actions, including repair, maintenance, adjustment, or replacement of fire doors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records.
  • Offer professional guidance to clients and responsible persons regarding fire door compliance, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Remain up to date with current legislation, standards, and best practice through ongoing CPD.
