An established facilities management organisation is seeking an experienced Fire Door Surveyor to support its continued growth. The successful individual will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of current fire safety legislation and standards, delivering high-quality fire door inspections and reporting in line with recognised industry frameworks, including BM TRADA.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive fire door inspections across commercial and residential premises.
- Assess fire door components, including door leaves, frames, seals, ironmongery, and associated hardware, to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Confirm fire doors are correctly installed, unobstructed, and fully operational.
- Test fire doors for correct closing, latching, and overall functionality within required tolerances.
- Identify, document, and report any defects, non-compliance issues, or potential fire safety risks.
- Produce clear, accurate, and detailed inspection reports suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide recommendations for remedial actions, including repair, maintenance, adjustment, or replacement of fire doors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records.
- Offer professional guidance to clients and responsible persons regarding fire door compliance, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Remain up to date with current legislation, standards, and best practice through ongoing CPD.
