Role purpose: Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead complex infrastructure projects and support the management of a growing civil engineering team.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead civil engineering design for drainage, highways and external works
- Oversee S278 and S38 infrastructure schemes
- Manage and coordinate engineering teams and resources
- Review and approve technical design outputs
- Manage project budgets and commercial delivery
- Prepare and write fee proposals
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
- Attend client meetings and lead technical discussions
- Support business development and bid input
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and design codes
Skills and experience:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards
- Strong consultancy background in civil engineering
- Experience managing teams and complex infrastructure projects
- Strong drainage and highways design knowledge
- Commercial and project leadership experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
