As a Senior Accountant, you will manage your own portfolio of clients while providing technical support, guidance and mentoring to a small team, ensuring an excellent service is delivered to clients.
The Role Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and submit statutory accounts and tax returns for: Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies
- Manage your own portfolio of clients, providing a high standard of service.
- Review accounting and taxation work completed by junior team members.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to colleagues.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication.
- Onboard new clients and support the transition of their accounting and compliance requirements.
- Advise clients on tax planning and tax efficiency.
- Provide business advisory support, including: Cash flow forecasting, Budgeting, Pricing advice
- Prepare, review and complete bookkeeping, VAT returns and CIS where required.
- Conduct year-end meetings with clients.
- Carry out client fee reviews.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and client documentation.
- Liaise with HMRC and Companies House to resolve client queries.
- Deliver bookkeeping or accounting training to clients where appropriate.
- Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Requirements Essential
- Full membership of a recognised professional body (AAT, ATT, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years' experience within an accountancy practice.
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing: Statutory accounts, Corporation Tax returns, Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Experience working with: Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies
- Good working knowledge of UK taxation.
- Experience using: Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, FreeAgent
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
