This role requires a hands-on, commercially astute finance leader who can both challenge and support the business, ensuring financial discipline while enabling growth. You should have proven experience as a CFO/Finance Director, ideally with exposure to divestment activity.
- Lead the monthly financial close, owning the full P&L, WIP calculations, accruals and detailed balance sheet reviews.
- Drive the reforecasting process in collaboration with Client Services and New Business, identifying risks, opportunities, and expected outturns.
- Lead board reporting with a strong focus on P&L performance, cash flow, and forward-looking financial insight.
- Partner closely with Client Services, chairing monthly WIP meetings to review project progress, revenue forecasts, and commercial exposure.
- Maintain accurate long-term and short-term cash flow forecasting.
- Support the Finance Manager and AP Assistant across billing, supplier payments and operational finance to ensure seamless day-to-day delivery.
- Oversee the audit process, ensuring timely preparation of schedules and responses, with completion targeted for June/July.
- Produce monthly utilisation and client profitability reporting, using data from Float to inform commercial decision-making.
- Provide oversight of tax and payroll compliance, including VAT, Corporation Tax and payroll processes.
- Support new business activity through contract review, pricing input, and commercial modelling.
- Work alongside the MD to help deliver the financial data relating to new ideas, products and services that will ultimately benefit the business.
- Managing 2 team members and working 1-2 days a week (or more) in London office.
Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA). Proven experience as a Finance Director, ideally with exposure to divestment activity. Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with finance systems, ideally IRIS Financials.
