The role..
The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading this established research area which will cover different facets of how technology is used across the Environment, Health, Safety and Quality sectors. They will set the commercial and research strategy for the EHS & Quality research team located in London and NYC. This individual will have excellent client facing skills, a deep knowledge of research methodologies and experience in managing analysts as well as research and consulting projects. The successful candidate will have the ambition, intellectual prowess and management skills to drive the team forward.
What you’ll be doing..
- Lead the EHSQ research practice under the guidance of research management; conducting research projects based on the established portfolio of Verdantix methodologies.
- Develop the practice by hiring junior and experienced analysts.
- Create the annual research plan to constantly expand the Verdantix proposition into new market segments and anticipate client needs.
- Deliver high impact, influential studies and establishing long-term relationships with C-level clients.
- Provide feedback to analysts to improve the structure, key messages, language and business insights of written research deliverables.
- Manage analysts on a day-to-day basis to help them develop research skills, presentation skills, client facing skills and writing skills.
- Scope and design consulting projects with business analysis skills and conceptual thinking.
- Articulate the value of Verdantix research to new prospects in sales calls, meetings, conferences and networking events.
- Develop deep client relationships with individuals in leading roles in the EHS sector.
- Give speeches at industry conferences and client events to build awareness of the Verdantix brand.
- Achieve and maintain thought leadership and a high profile in the relevant business sector.
What we’re looking for..
- Significant work experience in a technology analyst firm, market research firm or consulting firm, or EHS technology development or implementation space.
- Educated to degree level with a preference for top-tier universities. Relevant degrees or a background in fields such as Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Economics, Mechanical Engineering are also of particular interest.
- Experience in conducting technology research, business analysis and modelling, technology analysis, and presenting to clients would be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of the world of EHS in a business context, its use cases, and major trends.
- A good understanding of the agendas of Heads of EHS is a big plus.
- Superior client management skills including communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
- Excellent time management skills and organisational skills.
- Intellectual ability to analyse diverse business problems and rapidly structure solutions through research activities.
- Proven ability and desire to manage the production of high-quality written deliverables for executive clients.
- Commercial perspective and desire to help win new business through sales support, client meetings and networking.
- Vision and ego-strength to grow with the business and constantly enhance the client value proposition.
- Career goal to manage a team of highly capable analysts.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings on an ad hoc basis for short periods typically no longer than 3 days.
- World class sense of humour.
- Perfect written English and fluent spoken English.
