Senior Analyst - Industrial Transformation

The role…

Working in a team of analysts located in the firm’s London, New York, and Boston offices, the analyst will conduct strategic research on how industrial asset management (IAM) solutions address real-world challenges faced by asset-intensive organizations in sectors such as manufacturing, oil & gas, and power & utilities. The successful analyst will be required to:

• Analyse major and emerging IAM market trends
• Share and develop best practices and strategies in utilising CMMS – Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Asset Performance Management (APM), Asset Investment Planning (AIP) and Field Service Management (FSM) solutions
• Analyse vendors and products in the CMMS, EAM, APM, AIP and FSM markets; assessing capabilities, innovation, and competitive positioning
• Advise clients such as software vendors, asset-intensive enterprises, and investors on strategy, market opportunities, and technology adoption.
• Present findings through research reports, webinars, conferences, and briefings to communicate how emerging technologies (AI and digital twins) are shaping the industrial asset management landscape.

The successful candidate will have the ambition to undertake a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research, write high quality written reports, present research findings to client executives and keep up to date with the latest industrial asset management news.

Excelling in the role requires an enthusiasm for understanding how technology can improve business outcomes, experience in producing high-quality written deliverables, and the ability to contribute to client-facing engagements. Successful candidates will have the ambition to undertake a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research in collaboration with other analysts.

Salary opportunity is £55K – £60K, depending on experience level, plus a very competitive quarterly bonus scheme.

This is a hybrid role which requires 3 days a week in the office during probationary period, and will decrease to 2 days upon successful completion.

What you’ll be doing…

• Conducting market research based on the established portfolio of Verdantix methodologies.
• Undertaking research interviews and conversations with individuals in leading roles in the IAM industry.
• Efficiently writing high-quality research documents in English.
• Producing reports on technology vendors and market news based on briefings.
• Building quantitative models to size and forecast industrial technology markets.
• Working on consulting projects relating to IAM, AI, safety, sustainability and industrial technologies including wearables, drones, digital twins, data science and software.
• Develop strong client relationships with individuals in leading operations, engineering and maintenance roles
• Attending industry events and speaking engagements to help raise the profile of Verdantix in the market.
• Developing trusted relationships with Verdantix clients and senior industry decision makers.
• Supporting marketing efforts by writing blogs and engaging in social media activities.

About you…

• Educated to undergraduate level with a preference for top-tier universities, ideally with a degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or computer science.
• Interested to see candidates with relevant post-graduate qualifications (Masters or PhD).
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the challenges that asset-owning organisations face now and in the future, ideally with 2+ years’ experience in our key sectors (manufacturing, oil and gas, and power and utilities)
• Preferably 2+ years hands on industrial experience preferably with exposure to industrial technologies, engineering or maintenance.
• Experience working with asset information, data analytics and industrial technology to improve maintenance, operations and performance of industrial assets
• Understanding and experience of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Systems and the wider IAM market landscape
• Preferable experience in delivering asset performance and maintenance optimization related projects
• Experience in conducting research interviews and contributing to the development of research reports is a plus.
• Proven ability to quickly write high quality reports for a business audience.
• Quantitative skills and knowledge of Excel to manipulate large data sets and apply mathematical concepts.
• Experience in developing PowerPoint decks for a corporate audience.
• Broader interest in the future of industrial technologies.
