A growing, specialist sustainability consultancy is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to be based from their Reading office, working on a hybrid basis. Reporting into the Director, you will be working directly with clients across several sectors, developing and delivering sustainability strategy and sustainability projects. You will oversee entire client accounts, manage workflows, deliver projects, manage juniors and build relationships with clients.
Duties will include:
- Operate on a strategic level, guiding clients through sustainability planning and implementation to embed sustainable principles.
- Lead the delivery of sustainability projects, utilising project teams and developing ESG roadmaps.
- Undertake stakeholder engagement programmes and develop materiality assessments.
- Lead on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget.
- Stakeholder management, including C-Suite.
- Supporting business development by delivering pitches, supporting marketing with research and attending conferences.
Candidates MUST have:
- Good track record with sustainability, either at a consultancy or in-house corporate sustainability department with a focus on sustainability strategy and sustainability projects.
- Good client facing skills, including presenting and stakeholder management.
- Experience leading small teams, in a project delivery or line management capacity.
- Good experience of ESG reporting, sustainability frameworks and regulations, such as CSRD, CFD and ISSB.
- Confident at liaising with senior management and influencing clients.
- Strong auditing, gap analysis and reporting skills.
Desirable are:
- Experience of climate risk, biodiversity and/or human capital.
- Good understanding of SBTi, measuring and managing both environmental and social impacts.
- Line management experience.
- Business development skills, upselling relationships and organically growing accounts.
