An international chemicals manufacturer is seeking a Senior Sustainability Manager to be based in their Northampton office. This is a 1 year fixed term contract to provide maternity cover. You will lead their sustainability function, report into the operations executive committee and be focused on implementing their sustainability strategy, ESG Reporting and KPIs, managing ESG communications and driving decarbonisation.

Duties will include:

  • Development and delivery of the Sustainability & ESG strategy.
  • Report into the leadership and provide updates on progress, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Performance management and reporting, covering ESG requirements, carbon emissions, energy usage and tracking improvements through the introduction of ESG KPIs.
  • Lead CSR, social impact campaigns and charitable initiatives to maximise their benefits.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to embed ESG strategy, build sustainability best practices and increase awareness.
  • Work with the procurement, R&D and EHS teams to maximise sustainability and drive progress.

Candidate MUST have:

  • Proven track record in a similar sustainability role, ideally within the chemicals, FMCG, manufacturing or pharma industry.
  • Sustainability strategy experience, embedding the strategy and driving continual improvement.
  • Good experience working with the procurement team to deliver on scope 3 targets.
  • Good stakeholder management skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the business’s various departments.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills, tracking performance indicators, generating annual ESG reports and aligning to industry standards.
  • Experience working on Social Value / Social Impact / Community and / or Health and Wellness projects.
  • Passion for sustainability and to continue expanding your knowledge.

Desirable are:

  • Experience of working with ISO standards.
  • Successful experience achieving EcoVadis awards.

The role offers hybrid working, with up to 2 days a week from home and requires occasional travel to other sites.
