A leading corporate real estate business is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor (or nearly qualified RICS Surveyor) to join their ESG (Sustainability) team based in Bristol. You do not require any sustainability experience and will receive full training; you will utilise your technical building knowledge to consult on sustainability projects. Reporting into the Head of ESG and part of a growing team, you will be focused on reviewing commercial properties, often as part of a pre-acquisition due diligence survey, assessing their sustainability and creating reports on ways to enhance ESG and Net Zero performance.
Duties will include:
- Manage a full range of building surveying ESG instructions on a variety of commercial properties, including offices, retail, industrial and PRS.
- Work will include ESG focused pre-acquisition due diligence surveys, development monitoring, project management, net zero asset plans, developing minimum standards for refurbishment and development.
- You will be responsible for delivering on your own projects within the deadlines set, with support from an experienced management team.
- You will have opportunities to work directly with clients, developing relationships and securing further instructions.
- Assisting with preparing fee bids, presenting pitches and briefings to Clients.
Candidate MUST have:
- Strong technical understanding of property from experience as a Building Surveyor.
- Good client facing skills.
- Real interest in sustainability and ESG, with a passion to develop skills in this space.
Desirable are:
- Be a RICS qualified Chartered Building Surveyor.
- Relevant ESG or Sustainability qualifications.
- Exposure to energy modelling software, whole life carbon assessments, BREEAM, net zero pathways, LCA or building performance.
The role offers hybrid working, with 2 days a week from home and requires travel to client sites on some of the other days. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, progressive and supportive business with great career progression opportunities. The successful candidate will receive a basic salary of between £35,000 to £55,000 based on your skills, plus a bonus, pension and good benefits.
