Verdant Recruitment is working with an established and growing consultancy to recruit a Planning & Land Advisor to join its Property & Development team. This is a varied opportunity suited to someone with experience across planning, land, rural property, development, infrastructure or estate management, or an ambitious candidate looking to broaden their experience within these areas. The successful candidate will work closely with a diverse client base, providing practical and commercial advice across planning and land projects, property matters, development opportunities and wider rural projects. For a more experienced applicant, there is also scope to take greater responsibility within the team, support junior colleagues and contribute towards the continued growth of the division. The Role Your responsibilities will include: Planning & Development Supporting clients with planning applications and development opportunities. Preparing and progressing Permitted Development and full planning applications. Providing general planning and development advice. Assisting with development appraisals and viability assessments. Identifying opportunities for land and property diversification. Land & Infrastructure Supporting clients on a variety of land and infrastructure projects. Liaising with contractors, stakeholders, landowners and project teams. Monitoring works undertaken across client land and property. Assisting with wider land matters connected with development and infrastructure projects. Coordinating information and supporting clients throughout project delivery. Property Management Assisting with the management of a varied property portfolio. Supporting the marketing and letting of property. Liaising with occupiers, prospective tenants and other stakeholders. Assisting with property agreements, compliance and ongoing management matters. Rural & Estate Management Supporting the management of farms, estates and rural property portfolios. Providing advice relating to rural property and land management. Assisting with landlord and tenant matters, valuations and diversification opportunities. Supporting environmental and land-management projects. Developing strong, long-term relationships with existing clients. Business Development & Progression The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to: Help develop and grow the Property & Development service. Identify new business opportunities and build relationships across the region. Support existing clients with new projects and commercial opportunities. Take on increased responsibility as their experience develops. Potentially mentor or manage other team members, depending on experience. About You We are interested in speaking with candidates from a range of backgrounds. You may currently be working within rural surveying, planning, land agency, property, infrastructure, development or environmental consultancy. Ideally, you will have: A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience. Strong organisational and communication skills. Good attention to detail. Confidence dealing with clients and external stakeholders. The ability to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously. A commercial and practical approach to problem solving. The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. A willingness to travel to client sites when required. Experience in any of the following would be advantageous: * Planning applications or development projects. * Farm or rural diversification. * Rural property or land management. * Infrastructure projects. * Commercial property management. * Project coordination. * Client relationship management or business development. * Mentoring or managing junior colleagues. * Relevant professional accreditation, although this is not essential for all applicants. Training & Career Development The business has a strong focus on professional development and will provide structured support to help the successful candidate progress. This will include a combination of on-the-job experience, internal development and external training, with exposure to a broad range of land, property and planning projects.
