Position Summary

You’ll be the go‑to support for our Bar & Restaurant Manager, helping keep our food and drink service running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll lead by example, inspiring the team with a hands‑on, friendly approach, and making sure every guest leaves with a smile.

Typical duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in recruiting and training the bar and waiting teams.
  • Overseeing the front‑of‑house operations when the Bar & Restaurant Manager is absent.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained—complete spot checks with customers.
  • Being knowledgeable about our product range.
  • Helping the Bar & Restaurant Manager organise the staff rota to ensure adequate resourcing at all times.
  • Assisting with ongoing stock management, minimising waste, maintaining GP's, etc.
  • Careful management and implementation of all Health & Safety and legislative requirements.
  • Ensuring that the bar is well stocked at all times.
  • Assisting in the promotion of the venue via our social media channels and marketing team.
  • Ensuring that our Health & Safety obligations are adhered to at all times.

About the Candidate

You should be passionate about hospitality, enjoy exceeding customer expectations, and have a hands‑on attitude. You will need to have previous experience managing a bar and restaurant and be able to demonstrate effective measures for reducing waste and increasing sales. You will also need to have previous experience managing and developing a staff team and be able to demonstrate effective ways of motivating the team to achieve excellence. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role, be confident in leading and running shifts while engaging with guests, skilled at multitasking across the venue, training and coaching a large front‑of‑house team, recruiting and developing staff, delivering excellent service including menu and allergen knowledge, resolving customer complaints quickly and cost‑effectively, demonstrating a strong commitment to exceptional customer service, and possessing good knowledge of licensing laws (a personal license is desirable), along with excellent communication skills.
