Ready to Take the Helm at Two Stunning Parks? Verdant Leisure is a dynamic and growing holiday park operator with 14 beautiful locations across Scotland, Northern England, and North Devon. We are looking for an experienced and driven General Manager with a background in the holiday park sector to lead the operations at two of our beautiful parks on the Berwickshire coast: Coldingham Bay and Scoutscroft Leisure Park. Together, these parks offer over 300 pitches, welcoming a mix of holiday homeowners, short-break guests, and campers - with camping pods and two fantastic bar & restaurant venues, including The Drift Inn, which opened in 2023.
About the role: As General Manager, you will be the driving force behind both parks' success - leading the team, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering unforgettable guest experiences. You will work closely with Heads of Department to inspire and develop high-performing teams, champion the Verdant values of positivity and care, and drive strong commercial results. This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same and where your enthusiasm, vision, and resilience will shape the future of two outstanding leisure destinations.
Typical duties and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the smooth running of the park, identifying new opportunities to drive greater efficiency and improve performance.
- Responsibility for managing, monitoring, controlling and delivering the annual park budget and operating profit targets, including capital expenditure.
- Developing and implementing strategies to increase year on year sales across all departments and achieve agreed gross profit margins.
- Maximise holiday home sales, whilst maintaining a high quality sales process in line with company guidelines and maintain excellent relationships with our customers through delivery of welcome meetings and events.
- To recruit, motivate and develop high performance teams focused on delivering and exceeding our owners' and guests' expectations.
- To safeguard all licences on the park, e.g. site licence, liquor licence etc, to ensure that park operations meet our legal obligations.
- Planning the work of the team, prioritising as appropriate and ensuring the best use of resources.
- Protecting and maintaining the company's assets.
About the person: As General Manager, you will be responsible for every aspect of the day-to-day running of our holiday parks. From ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies to driving profitability and delivering standout guest experiences, no two days will be the same. You will work closely with your Heads of Department to lead, motivate, and develop a passionate team, making sure every guest and holiday homeowner enjoys the very best of Verdant. As a senior leader, you will lead from the front, bringing energy, positivity, and a solutions-focused approach, while nurturing a supportive, people-first culture across the parks.
You will bring:
- Significant experience managing holiday parks (multi-site or complex operations a bonus).
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Commercial acumen, including budgeting, P&L responsibility, and capital projects.
- Confidence in sales and customer engagement, especially around holiday home ownership.
- Experience across leisure, hospitality, and accommodation functions.
- A flexible, positive attitude and a passion for delivering memorable customer experiences.
Why you will love Team Verdant: When you join Team Verdant, you will become part of a passionate, dedicated group of people who genuinely care about what they do - and about each other. We are proud of our supportive culture, our beautiful locations, and the opportunities we offer our teams to grow, thrive and celebrate success together.
As General Manager, you will enjoy a range of brilliant benefits, including:
- A performance-related bonus package.
- On-park accommodation (if required).
- 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), rising to 36 days over three years of service.
- Up to 30% off park breaks for you, your family and friends, plus last-minute getaways from just Β£99.
- Discounts on park facilities including restaurants, leisure and activities.
- 24/7 confidential counselling and advice support line.
- Regular recognition and reward, annual team celebrations, and basically any excuse for cake, biscuits and celebration!
