This role sits within our Building Performance and Resilience team, part of our Sustainable Transition Delivery group. We work with market leaders in commercial real estate to develop innovative global carbon reduction strategies. Our clients are building owners, real‐estate investors and developers, and our Building Performance & Resilience service acts on clients' strategic sustainability aspirations, breaking them down into implementable carbon/energy/adaptation action plans and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Readiness assessment of client organisations to deliver sustainable savings.
  • Identifying and prioritising the most cost‐effective opportunities, including technological, behavioural and HVAC optimisation initiatives.
  • Supporting and building compelling business cases for achieving staged and pragmatic energy and cost reduction.
  • Delivering services and opportunities, with a guaranteed outcome and savings verified.

In addition to the core services, you will:

Project Management

  • Deliver necessary project inputs to meet time, quality and budget requirements. As you grow, you will take responsibility for project work streams and small‐scale consulting projects.

Technical Input

  • Provide high‐quality data analysis to support ongoing sustainability/energy challenges. Work with Verco's in‐house energy management software and third‐party systems to review consumption trends, identify unexpected usage and suggest solutions.

Business Development & Proposal Writing

  • Assist in proposal creation by collating required information and supporting the team.

Client Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients through professional interactions.

Operational

  • Respond timely to operational needs, including invoicing, project management information, time‐sheeting, health & safety and other administrative tasks.

Environmental

  • Contribute to Verco's sustainability plans and internal CSR objectives as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or Physics.
  • Masters or relevant post‐graduate qualification in building services engineering, energy or sustainability.
  • Experience in building services/energy management.
  • Understanding of energy use, energy balances and HVAC systems (basic).
  • Desirable knowledge of energy & water reduction audits, renewable energy technology design, heat‐recovery systems and energy consumption of HVAC systems.
  • High competence in IT, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Power BI and AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, inquisitive approach.
  • Language skills in German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Professional appearance, clean UK driving licence.
