For nearly 30 years Vercity has been the UK's leading provider of Asset and Infrastructure projects in the public sector, and an MSA leader in the PFI space with over £30 billion of public sector assets under management.
We're recruiting a Finance Manager to act as the finance lead and Company Secretary across a portfolio of infrastructure projects. This is a high-impact role where you'll operate as the equivalent of Finance Director at project level, partnering closely with senior stakeholders and Boards.
What you'll be doing:
- Owning the reporting, analysis and commercial finance management of a key, national infrastructure project
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial model management
- Presenting to and advising Boards, funders and senior stakeholders
- Managing audits, tax, cash flows and shareholder distributions
- Playing a key role in commercial activity, variations and lifecycle spend
- Owning financial management, governance and statutory compliance for complex SPVs
About you:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (practice trained preferred)
- 4+ years post-qualified experience
- Strong technical accounting and financial modelling skills
- Able to communicate confidently at senior and Board level
- Experience in infrastructure, PFI or asset management is beneficial but not essential; and high-calibre candidates looking for a first or second time move from practice and advance their experience in a fast-moving, highly commercial business would be encouraged.
Why this role?
- Genuine ownership and autonomy
- Clear progression and exposure to senior decision-making
- Complex, interesting projects with long-term impact
- Leeds-based with flexibility
- 30 days annual leave, enhanced pension and fantastic development opportunities
If you're a qualified accountant in the Leeds area with strong technical foundations but a desire to extend your skills and experience into a highly commercial area with strong PE exposure, this could be the ideal next step.
