Vercity are a professional services and consultancy business specialising in real estate and infrastructure with 500 colleagues in the UK and Canada. We are looking to hire an experienced HR Business Partner to join our established head office team for a 12 month fixed term to cover maternity leave, with an ideal start date of early June 2026. Reporting to our Head of People Services you will enjoy an effective hand over and supported autonomy over a range of HR areas with a particular focus on ER and grievance & disciplinary management. We have few such cases but this role has had full responsibility for that area so the successful colleague must be a confident SME.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations
  • Employee Engagement
  • Flexible Working – request assessment, management and communication
  • L&D – scheduling and management (rather than delivery)
  • General HR administration – as a small team we are admin self sufficient (hibob)

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of working within a similar role ideally in a professional services organisation.
  • Strong background in employee relations with experience managing complex casework from beginning to end.
  • Experience supporting L&D initiatives and capability development.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice – and a demonstrated ability to keep up to date with Employment Law and HR best practice.
  • HR Systems and 365 experience – able to input data confidently and report on it.
  • Ideally with a recognised HR qualification, eg. Level 5 or above.
