Vercity are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the commercial, contractual and operational management of 2 Greater Manchester PPP/PFI projects – Salford Royal Hospital and the GMP estate.
Acting on behalf of the Project Companies, you’ll be the key interface between stakeholders, service providers, funders and Authority/Trust partners, ensuring contractual compliance, strong governance and excellent service performance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of the Management Services Agreement and ensure full compliance with Project Agreement and project finance obligations.
- Act as the primary interface between the Project Company, Authority/Trust, funders, board members and service providers.
- Oversee contract performance, service delivery, lifecycle programmes, insurance obligations and contractor compliance.
- Manage commercial matters including variations, benchmarking, market testing and contractual change processes.
- Support robust financial management, invoicing, payment processes and governance reporting across the project.
- Provide leadership to project teams and promote best practice in contract management, FM services and stakeholder engagement.
The Successful Candidate
- Proven experience managing PFI, PPP or complex outsourced asset / infrastructure contracts.
- Strong understanding of project agreements, finance documentation and contract governance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships, including public sector clients, boards, lenders and contractors.
- Commercially astute with experience of variations, lifecycle management, benchmarking and performance management regimes.
- Knowledge of Hard and Soft FM services within operational environments such as healthcare, justice, education or civic infrastructure.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex contractual issues and deliver positive outcomes.
