About the Role: CI/CD is the beating heart of Vercel. Developers & agents alike create over 1 million builds per day on Vercel. Every build on Vercel is powered by our own compute Infrastructure. As an engineer on the CI/CD team you’ll be responsible for contributing to our compute platform that powers builds, sandboxes and functions. This work is redefining compute with features like Active CPU pricing & Fluid Compute. As a Software Engineer on the CI/CD team, you’re responsible for building the underlying compute infrastructure that powers all of these builds at scale. You’ll be responsible for transforming the performance of builds, working with open source authors to understand the requirements of their frameworks.

If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (London or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you’re located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and improve our fleet of clusters, running 100’s of instances, deployed in every region where our customers deploy code.
  • You’ll be writing Golang on a daily basis and using Terraform to provision our infrastructure.
  • Rethinking the primitives of our infrastructure, working with virtual filesystems and Linux primitives.

About You:

  • 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of JavaScript/TypeScript/Golang, Golang preferred.
  • You have extended experience with Containers, Virtual Machines, Linux.
  • Practical experience building, running and debugging distributed systems.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills. An enthusiasm for digging into problems with unknown solutions.

Bonus If You:

  • Built and maintained CI/CD systems.
  • Have Product engineering experience.
