Our client provides a full range of clinical trial services and is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician. This role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on experience across a variety of medical equipment who is looking to broaden their technical scope. The role offers exposure to continuous improvement initiatives, direct client interaction, and opportunities to influence processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide remote technical support and guidance to clients.
- Assist with servicing, maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment within the workshop.
- Take ownership of proposing improvements to technical and servicing procedures.
- Communicate medical device information, including updates to policies, guidelines, and regulations, to internal and external stakeholders.
- Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot malfunctioning devices.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Manage inventory of spare parts and development of maintenance schedules.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with medical equipment.
- Confidence in acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal teams.
- Good physical fitness, as the role involves workshop-based manual duties.
- Experience with any of the following equipment would be highly advantageous:
- Infusion systems (ambulatory, syringe, and volumetric infusion pumps)
- Patient monitoring equipment
- Diagnostic and ambulatory ECG/EKG systems, Holter monitors, and stress-test equipment
- Ophthalmic devices
- Centrifuges and refrigeration equipment
- Point-of-care (POC) devices
- Haematology analysers
