Veran Performance is a technology-agnostic consultancy that specialises in back-office service enablement and transformation. We're one of the UK's largest and most trusted back-office transformation consultancies, supporting clients to transform their HR, Payroll, Finance and Procurement services. Our mission is to help you deliver visible benefits to your business and end users. We close the gap between your expectations of business transformation and the reality of what gets delivered, whether that is technology, process, or people change.
We are looking to bring on board individuals who are passionate about:
- Procurement processes
- Procurement AI and technologies
- Embedding change in procurement/commercial teams and wider business
As a Procurement Transformation Consultant, you will guide and support clients through their transformation journey. This includes assisting them from the initial stages of assessing options and building a business case, to deploying the future service and any supporting technologies. Veran Performance offers a dynamic, inclusive work environment that encourages growth, collaboration, and innovation. We’re driven by a passion for excellence, constantly pushing boundaries to deliver outstanding results for our clients. Every team member at Veran is valued and empowered to make a meaningful impact, contributing to the success and growth of the business.
About the Role
As a Procurement Transformation Consultant, you would report into a manager from our Commercial Community. As a Consultant, your work will be as varied as the clients we work with, meaning the role will change with each new client or project. However, here are some of the key activities you can expect to be involved in during your time at Veran:
- Project Roles and Delivery: You will need to be able and willing to work in a variety of project roles, including:
- Commercial Design: Facilitating design workshops with business SMEs to shape how we manage around £50m of annual expenditure.
- Data: Supporting clients in preparing their commercial data for new platforms.
- Market shaping: Undertaking market engagements and discussions to shape our future markets for general goods/services and Defence goods/services.
- Process: Managing the commercial project plan, risks, documentation, information storage.
- Change: Delivering best practice and new procurement Act change.
Expertise and Knowledge: When supporting our clients in assessing their spend options, either at the outset of the program or during detailed design, we expect you to bring relevant expertise and examples to aid their decision making. This could come from your experience working in an in-house team delivering a Commercial service, or from involvement in other transformation programs. It is essential that you are enthusiastic about maintaining and growing your expertise and knowledge to provide the best advice to our clients. We expect you to pursue your own development to stay current with the latest trends and research.
Facilitating the Future Service Design and Commercial Delivery: A core component of this role is to support our clients' Commercial & Business teams in agreeing on a future service design that delivers the outcomes set out in their business case and then converting this design to a commercial offering that the supplier marketplace can bid against. This includes creating the contracting vehicle and documentation to deliver the service. You must be able to facilitate complex design conversations, maintaining focus on the required outcomes, create contractual documents and lead an evaluation process to provide options and ensure quality delivery within the set timeframes.
Understanding of Procurement Technologies: To support our clients in their supply delivery, you should ideally have awareness of current solution offerings in the commercial service space, including procurement platforms, contract regulations, and service enablement technologies. Beyond understanding the capabilities of these technologies, you will act as a bridge between Procurement/Business teams and technical delivery partners, ensuring that requirements are clearly articulated in the required format and the configured solution delivers the desired outcomes. Ideally you will have an understanding of technologies and their abilities and be able to show the client how to exploit these to enhance the service offering. You will play a crucial role in helping people understand the changes that future service design will bring. This involves translating high-level principles into practical implications for individuals’ job roles. Importantly, you will identify and articulate the benefits associated with these changes, ensuring that targets and measures of these benefits are agreed upon with the client.
As a member of the Commercial Community at Veran, you will contribute to our growth by supporting the development of our products, services, and people. Additionally, you may be involved in supporting our business development efforts, including identifying further opportunities within client engagements.
