Verallia UK is one of Europes most prominent manufacturers of premium glass containers, providing exceptional quality glass packaging for some of the worlds most prestigious spirit brands for over one hundred years. Glass is infinitely recyclable making it an important packaging material of today and more importantly of the future, as such the glass industry is an exciting and sustainable business to work in and be part of.

We are currently seeking to recruit highly motivated and pro-active individuals to join our Glass Decoration Department as Glass Decoration Line Operatives at our West Yorkshire site in Castleford.

Reporting to the Decoration Chargehand, key responsibilities include but are not limited to: –

  • Through a process of continuous inspection, identify faults present in the print and spray process of glass containers.
  • To visually inspect glass containers, passing good ware and identifying and rejecting glass faults, where appropriate, whilst hand packing containers from the decoration line.

To undertake the safe and effective use of automatic and semi-automatic handling equipment.

Candidates with previous skills and knowledge of working within the glass industry would be desirable, however, this is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidates. Previous experience of working in a continuous process manufacturing environment would also be advantageous to this role.

This process runs on a 3-shift system working 12-hour shifts days and nights, working an average of 40 hours each week.

The hourly rate is £12.21, which is applicable to all individuals, with no regard to age.
