We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and pro-active individual to work as an On Call Electrical Team Leader within the Engineering Department, based at our Knottingley site. Reporting to the Engineering & Cold End Maintenance Manager, the role is responsible for managing and overseeing a small team of Electrical Engineers.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: –

-Provide technical guidance and support to team members, assigning tasks based on skill and capability, whilst monitoring and evaluating team performance and providing valuable, developmental feedback

-Ensure that the team follows safety protocols and complied with electrical codes and regulations. Conducting Safety inspections and promoting a culture of safety within the team

-To resolve all problems relating to electrical equipment and machine set up by involving and liaising with other appropriate Departments, in order to ensure that machinery is operational

-To ensure Departmental employees are supervised within the guidelines of Company procedures, i.e., performance, discipline, and grievance, as set down in the Company Handbook

Suitable candidates should be fully apprentice trained, or equivalent, and possess a good level of Maths and English. The ability to work well under pressure, in a challenging working environment and prioritise workloads is also essential to this role, together with excellent problem solving skills. Previous supervisory and leadership knowledge and skills would be desirable. Candidates should also be enthusiastic and committed, with a pro-active and flexible approach to work, together with the capacity to drive and motivate those around you.

This is a Day position, which offers a competitive salary. The hours of work are 40 per week and will include the requirement to be part of a callout schedule for 1 in 4 weeks, the following work patterns are suggested and will be discussed with your Manager if successful: –

Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:00pm, 7:00am to 3:00pm and 8:00am to 4:00pm.
