We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and pro-active individual to join our Engineering Department as an On Call Electrical Engineer at our West Yorkshire site in Knottingley, reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and working within a small team. The role is responsible for the provision of an on-call service to rectify and eliminate equipment faults and failures and minimise machine downtime, via a committed rota (one week in four), covering 365 days per year. This on-call provision will commence after familiarisation with the site and machinery.
Suitable candidates should be fully apprentice trained, or equivalent, and possess a good level of Maths and English. Candidates may be requested to undertake an aptitude test to demonstrate these skills. Candidates must be able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels, both written and oral, have good organisational skills with a logical and methodical approach to work. The ability to work well under pressure, in a hostile working environment, and prioritise workloads is also essential to this role, together with excellent problem-solving skills. Previous knowledge of working within a glass manufacturing plant and/or 24-hour process environment would be an advantage, however, not essential.
This is a day position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; however, there is an element of flexibility required for this role and as such these may change from time to time to suit factory needs. In addition, you will be required to be on call one week in four.
