Overview
Verallia UK is a prominent manufacturer of premium glass containers, providing packaging for prestige brands. The role is based in Castleford, United Kingdom, in the Glass Decoration Department. The Spray Line Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation of an electrostatic spray coating line, ensuring maximum performance and quality standards. Reporting to the Decoration Chargehand, the role focuses on effective process operation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the spray line team is effectively deployed and workflow is maintained.
- Carry out machine start-up/shut down and oversee job changes as required by the production plan.
- Set machine parameters to achieve maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
- Regularly perform Quality Control tests on containers to ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings for each job run using recognized documentation and procedures.
- Complete process records in a timely manner throughout the shift.
- Carry out maintenance of spray line equipment in accordance with agreed schedules.
- Complete company forms related to accident and absence reporting, etc.
Shift pattern: This is a 3-crew shift position, involving 12-hour shifts, days and nights, Monday to Friday. The pattern includes an uplift for a Friday night shift (once during the 3-week cycle).
Qualifications and requirements
- Ideally, candidates will have previous experience with glass containers; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment is advantageous, with knowledge of electrostatic coating application preferred.
- A keen eye for detail, effective communication at all levels, and a proactive, energetic approach to a hands-on role.
