We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and pro-active individual to join our Engineering Department as an On Call Electrical Engineer at our West Yorkshire site in Knottingley, reporting to the Engineering Manager and working within a small team. The role is responsible for the provision of an ‘on-call’ service to rectify and eliminate equipment faults and failures and minimise machine downtime, via a committed rota (one week in four), covering 365 days per year. This on-call provision will commence after familiarisation of the site and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of an ‘on-call’ service to rectify and eliminate equipment faults and failures.
  • Minimise machine downtime.
  • Work within a committed rota (one week in four), covering 365 days per year.

Qualifications

  • Fully apprentice trained, or equivalent.
  • Good level of Maths and English.

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels, both written and oral.
  • Good organisational skills with a logical and methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a hostile working environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous knowledge of working within a glass manufacture plant and/or 24-hour process environment would be an advantage, however, not essential.
