Glass is infinitely recyclable making it an important packaging material of today and more importantly of the future, as such the glass industry is an exciting and sustainable business to work in and be part of.
We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and pro-active individual to join our Finance Team as a Finance Manager based at our Castleford site. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role is responsible for supporting the team in delivering an effective management and financial reporting function to both the UK and to Group.
Responsibilities
- Leading, organising and supporting the financial reporting and analysis team to ensure that all reporting requirements are met and that reporting deadlines are adhered to.
- Managing the month end reporting process with the aim to streamline and reduce the month end reporting timeline. Provide accurate accounts through thorough Balance Sheet reconciliation review.
- Continue to drive the integration of Verallia UK into the reporting requirements of the Verallia group by developing technical reporting, performance action plan projects, monthly reporting analysis and variance analysis.
- Lead the production of annual budgets and reforecast information to be presented in a defined reporting pack with detailed variance bridges.
- Provide business partnering to all departments (profitability, working capital requirements, and ensure that the reporting team continue to be integrated throughout the business.
- Produce and develop the margin analysis and product costing system in order to support strategic business decisions.
Qualifications and skills
Previous skills and knowledge of compliance and control policies are essential to this role, as well as the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues to facilitate positive implementation of policies. Candidates will be expected to work with a high level of integrity and autonomy and, as such, they will require excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work on their own initiative and have a can-do attitude. They should be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills as the role will be customer facing and have a high level of IT literacy using Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel.
Employment details
This is a monthly paid staff position, working 35 hours per week, however, due to the nature of the role, there may be occasions when you will be required to work over and above your contracted hours and demonstrate a level of flexibility.
