Our clients span continents, but all share one thing in common – they’re big names in airport excellence, with even bigger digital goals. At Veovo we strive to deliver predictable collaborative solutions that are the platform of great airports.
The Opportunity The Airport Systems Solution Architect is a senior, customer-facing role responsible for shaping, owning, and governing end-to-end technical solutions across Veovo’s airport technology portfolio. The role has a strong focus on pre‑sales activity, working closely with Sales, Product, and Delivery teams to ensure that proposed solutions align with customer business outcomes, Veovo’s product strategy, and delivery capability. By acting as the technical authority during the sales cycle, this role ensures that solutions are commercially viable, technically robust, scalable, and aligned with Veovo’s long‑term platform roadmap. The role will work across a range of airport operational and revenue systems, including Resource Management Systems (RMS), Airport Operational Databases (AODB), Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), and revenue management platforms. It will also support solution design involving integrations between these systems, wider airport or airline systems, and Veovo’s passenger flow, queue management, and analytics solutions. Acting as the technical bridge between Product, Delivery, and customer teams, you will help ensure system architectures are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the wider product roadmap. By strengthening the link between product and delivery, this role supports customer implementations that are consistent with Veovo’s strategic platform direction while addressing complex operational and integration requirements.
The Specifics
- Act as Enterprise Solution Owner for new business and expansion opportunities across EMEA.
- Lead technical discovery with airport customers, translating operational and commercial requirements into enterprise‑level solution architectures.
- Own the design for bids and proposals, including scope definition, system architecture, potential for partnering with other organisations, integrations, data flows, infrastructure, and non‑functional requirements.
- Provide technical thought leadership within bids, including authoring and reviewing solution descriptions and leading technical bid reviews and approvals.
- Present and demonstrate solutions to senior airport stakeholders, including executives, operations, IT, and commercial teams.
- Serve as design authority, ensuring proposed solutions align with Veovo platform standards, security principles, and product roadmap.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout the pre‑sales lifecycle.
- Ensure continuity from pre‑sales into delivery by collaborating with delivery teams during handover and early implementation phases.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Cloud Management, and Technical consultants throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Maintain and support high‑quality technical requirements, system architectures, and integration specifications across internal modules and third‑party components.
- Identify and resolve system‑level design issues early in the project lifecycle to reduce rework and post‑deployment defects.
- Provide technical oversight for system deployments and integrations, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security best practices are followed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives around system design, documentation quality, and integration methods.
As a global organisation, we collaborate with customers and colleagues across multiple time zones, and the role may require travel.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in Pre‑Sales Engineering roles, Solution Architecture or system engineering.
- Proven experience leading technical solutioning for bids and proposals in airports or a similar mission‑critical environment.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, integration patterns, and cloud‑based platforms.
- Experience working across Sales, Product, and Delivery functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, with a proactive and structured approach.
- Experience delivering solutions across a mix of SaaS and on‑premise deployments within mission‑critical environments.
- Proven involvement across the full solution lifecycle in mission or safety‑critical operational settings, from pre‑sales through to implementation and support.
- Experience working within procurement frameworks and highly structured tender processes, including formal RFP/RFI responses.
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and risk considerations in regulated or operationally sensitive environments, including integration technologies such as REST APIs and message‑based architectures.
- Software development lifecycles and agile delivery methodologies.
- Familiarity with airport operational systems such as AODB, Resource Management, Revenue Management, Passenger Forecasting, or similar real‑time operational platforms.
- Design and govern integrations between Veovo systems and external stakeholders such as ANSPs, Airport groups and Airports.
- Confident negotiator, able to balance customer needs with business constraints.
- Calm and effective under pressure, particularly in bid and deadline‑driven environments.
What we offer in return
- Working with cutting edge technologies in a small and ambitious team in a flat company structure.
- Rapid growth opportunities and structured professional training.
